Although Jesus has left this planet for the time being, He insists that He is still among us when we “gather in His name.” Yes, Jesus physically ascended into heaven—Acts 1 paints that unforgettable scene of Him rising and being hidden by a cloud. But He didn’t vanish from the story. He transitioned from being with us in body to being in us and among us by His Spirit—the Holy Spirit.

We often hear today’s verse quoted at prayer meetings, Bible studies, or church gatherings—where two or three are gathered. And yes, it absolutely applies there. But in context, Jesus is speaking about something a little different: forgiveness and church discipline. He’s teaching His disciples how to confront sin, extend grace, and pursue restoration within the family of God. And right in the thick of that messy, vulnerable process, He drops this stunning promise: “You won’t be doing this alone. I’ll be right there with you—among you—in your midst.”

When Christ joins your circle, it’s anything but ordinary. The room exhales. The mundane becomes magnetic. The spiritual air thickens with expectancy, and suddenly, you’re not just praying—you’re participating in something eternal.

• The room warms. Not physically, but spiritually. There’s a sense of welcome, like you’ve stepped into a living room where the Host knows you by name.

• Words flow differently. You’re not just reciting requests. You’re dialoguing. Listening. Sometimes you speak less because His presence says more.

• Unity deepens. These aren’t just fellow believers—they’re co-laborers, family, friends in the Spirit. The Gospel knits hearts together in ways no icebreaker ever could.

• Peace settles. Distraction fades. Anxiety loosens its grip. You feel held. Anchored. Known.

• Joy bubbles up. Not loud, but holy. A smile mid-prayer. A soft laugh when someone prays something so honest it feels sacred.

Whether you’re praying for reconciliation, healing, guidance, or simply gathering to seek His face—when Jesus joins your circle, the agenda bends to His presence. Sometimes He brings conviction. Sometimes comfort. Sometimes a fresh wind of clarity. But always, always, He brings Himself.

May the Lord meet you in every gathering—grand or quiet, planned or spontaneous. May His Spirit stir your heart, soften your words, and knit you together in Gospel love. May your prayer circles become holy ground, and your soul find rest in the nearness of Christ.

There are seven thunderous, history-shaking days in the life of Jesus Christ—each one a towering summit in the landscape of time. These aren’t just moments; they’re divine mile-markers that reveal who He is and why He matters more than anything.

(1) His Birth was the day God wrapped Himself in flesh—when Heaven kissed earth and eternity squeezed into a manger.
(2) His Baptism was the day the Sinless One stepped into our mess, plunging into waters meant for us, standing shoulder to shoulder, identifying with sinners.
(3) At the Wedding at Cana, His glory cracked through the ordinary, as the Creator first demonstrated His power by turning water into wine and whispering of greater miracles yet to come.
(4) Then came His Crucifixion—the moment when love poured out in crimson streams to rescue the lost, turning history’s darkest night into humanity’s dawn of hope.
(5) His Resurrection was the day the grave got evicted, when death bowed low before the Lord of life.
(6) And His Ascension— That was the King’s victorious return to His throne—Heaven erupted as the Champion took His seat in glory.

But nestled between Cana and Calvary stands a moment so dazzling it almost feels out of place: (7) The Transfiguration. In Matthew 17, Jesus takes Peter, James, and John up a high mountain. Suddenly—boom!—His face shines like the sun, His clothes blaze white as light, and Moses and Elijah appear, chatting with Him. Then the Father’s voice thunders from Heaven: “This is My beloved Son… listen to Him.”

For one breathtaking moment, the veil is pulled back. The disciples don’t just see the carpenter from Nazareth—they behold the blazing King of glory. It’s a sneak peek of the Resurrection, a trailer for the Second Coming, and a reminder that behind Jesus’ humanity pulses the full splendor of God.

Why does this matter to us? Because just like those wide-eyed disciples, we need the reminder: Jesus isn’t just relatable—He’s radiant. He’s not just compassionate—He’s cosmic. He’s not just near—He’s above all. The awe that gripped Peter, James, and John invites us into deeper wonder and reverence. In a world where faith can feel flat or over-intellectualized, the Transfiguration jolts us awake to God’s majesty, stirring worship and humility.

The Transfiguration shouts that Jesus is far more than a wise teacher or moral guide—He is the eternal Son of God, ablaze in glory, worthy of our worship and obedience.

So may the Lord open your eyes today to see His glory—not just on the mountaintops, but in the valleys too—so that His light fuels your soul until the day you see Him face to face.

Life is full of deals—some harmless, some helpful, and some downright hellish. Jesus drops a soul-shaking question in Matthew 16:26: “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul?” That’s not just a rhetorical zinger—it’s a spotlight on the devil’s favorite scam: swapping eternal treasure for temporary trinkets.

Scripture is full of tragic examples of those who made a bad deal. Judas sold Jesus for thirty silver coins—quick cash, eternal crash (Matthew 26:15). Esau gave up his birthright for a bowl of stew—appetite fed, destiny fled (Genesis 25:33–34). Ananias and Sapphira lied for clout, but lost their lives (Acts 5:1–10). Each thought they’d scored a win—until eternity revealed the loss.

And guess what? The same trades still happen today. Some sell out integrity for fame, only to find the spotlight burns out fast. Others chase wealth and leave family in the dust—rich pockets, empty hearts. Still others swap purity for a moment’s thrill, only to be haunted by regret. Different names, same con: gain the world, lose your soul.

But your soul? It’s far too precious to pawn off. The Bible’s word for “soul” (psuchē) refers to the deepest core of who you are—the eternal “you” that communes with God and lives forever. It’s the invisible, spiritual essence distinct from your body. It’s the seat of your emotions, your will, your character, your consciousness. You can recover lost money, health, or status—but not your soul. Without it, there is no “you.” Jesus proved its worth at the cross, paying not with silver or gold, but with His own blood (1 Peter 1:18–19). Stack up every treasure—gold, glory, empires, galaxies—and it still wouldn’t equal the value of one human soul.

So don’t sign the on devil’s dotted line. Don’t let the world bait you into a bargain that bankrupts your eternity. Guard your soul like the priceless treasure it is. Let Christ be your joy, your gain, your everything. Paul nailed it in Philippians 3:8: “I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord.” The only deal worth making? Lose the world. Gain Christ.

May the Lord give you sharp discernment to spot the devil’s deals, boldness to walk away, and deep joy in knowing your soul is safe in the hands of the One who will never let it go.

What are the odds Jesus would point at you and say, “Now that’s great faith”? Or is it more likely that He would He raise an eyebrow and sigh, “O you of little faith,” like He did with the disciples?

In Matthew 15, we meet a woman who defies every expectation. She’s a Canaanite. Today we would call her a Palestinian—a Gentile, an outsider—and she’s desperate. Her daughter is tormented by a demon, and she comes to Jesus pleading for help. At first, He’s silent. Then seemingly dismissive. Then resistant. But this woman? Oh, she’s not going anywhere.

She bulldozes through cultural barriers, religious walls, and divine silence with a faith so fierce, Jesus finally says, “O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.” Boom—her daughter is delivered instantly.

Here’s the big takeaway: great faith grabs hold of Jesus and refuses to let go, even when the odds look bleak and Heaven seems quiet. On many occasions, Jesus marveled at how little faith people had—even His own disciples who had front-row seats to His miracles. But this woman? She gets a commendation from the Son of God. “Great is your faith.” That’s not just a compliment—it’s a divine endorsement.

Faith isn’t always polished. Sometimes it’s messy, gritty, and full of struggle. But God isn’t annoyed by your persistence—He’s moved by it. Jesus didn’t shut this woman down; He drew her faith out and let it shine.

Hebrews 11:6 reminds us: “Without faith it’s impossible to please God.” But those who seek Him diligently—and believe Him relentlessly? They’re rewarded. This woman lived that verse out loud.

So here’s your holy nudge: Don’t stop praying for your unsaved loved ones. Don’t quit asking for healing. Don’t stop knocking. Don’t stop believing God’s promises—even when they feel delayed. Don’t stop worshiping when life feels heavy. Don’t stop forgiving—even when it’s the four-hundredth time. Don’t stop showing up. This “don’t stop” type of faith is the type that Jesus honors. And the faith that presses in will see Jesus move.

Her greatness wasn’t in her strength—it was in her stubborn grip on Jesus. May your prayers be fierce, your trust bold, and your heart ready to hear Him say, “Great is your faith.”

The Flood of Noah
(Genesis 6–9)

The story of Noah’s Flood is one of those passages everyone thinks they know—until they stop and actually read it. Then the questions start coming. Could water really cover the entire earth? Could an Ark carry every kind of animal? Could one family survive while the rest of humanity perished? Those are fair questions. They’re exactly the questions we’re going to wrestle with in this chapter.

In fact, they’re exactly the kinds of questions we should ask if we’re serious about understanding what the Bible actually claims.

Genesis doesn’t present the Flood as a legend or a moral fable. It presents it as history. So let’s look honestly at what happened, why it seems impossible, and why thoughtful Christ-followers still believe it.

What the Bible Says Happened

Genesis 6–9 tells us that humanity had become profoundly corrupt. Violence filled the earth, and every inclination of people’s hearts had become increasingly evil. God announced that judgment was coming, but He also provided a way of escape.

He instructed Noah to build a massive wooden vessel (“Ark”) with very specific dimensions. Noah obeyed, despite having every reason to think the project looked absurd to everyone around him.

Then Scripture tells us something remArkable:

“All the fountains of the great deep were broken up, and the windows of heaven were opened.”

Water came from below and above. Rain fell for forty days and forty nights. The floodwaters rose until “all the high hills under the whole heaven were covered.”

Everything outside the Ark died.

After many months, the waters gradually receded. The Ark came to rest on the mountains of Ararat, and Noah’s family stepped into a world that had been forever changed.

It’s an extraordinary account. And if you’re thinking, That couldn’t happen naturally, I agree.

That’s exactly why the Bible calls it a miracle.

Why This Seems Implausible

Let’s acknowledge the obvious problems.

Where did enough water come from to cover the earth?

How could rain alone flood the entire planet?

Could a wooden vessel that size really survive such a catastrophe?

How could Noah care for so many animals for over a year?

And wouldn’t a global flood leave unmistakable geological evidence?

Those are thoughtful questions. They deserve thoughtful answers—not dismissive ones.

The important thing to remember is that Genesis never describes the Flood as an unusually large “natural” disaster. It describes God intervening directly in His creation.

The event was supernatural from beginning to end.

What May Have Happened Scientifically

Notice that Genesis doesn’t simply say it rained.

It says, “the fountains of the great deep were broken up.”

That language suggests massive geological upheaval unlike anything we observe today. God may have ruptured the earth’s crust, released enormous underground reservoirs, or dramatically reshaped the planet itself. Whatever the precise mechanism, this was far more than an unusually rainy season.

Likewise, “the windows of heaven” describes a supernatural release of water from above. Scripture isn’t inviting us to explain the Flood through ordinary weather patterns. It is describing God using the forces of creation in extraordinary ways.

The Ark itself also deserves a closer look. Its proportions closely resemble those used in modern cargo ships—not designed for speed, but for stability. More importantly, Noah’s survival ultimately depended less on his shipbuilding skills than on God’s preservation.

The same is true for the animals. Genesis says they came to Noah. That alone required God’s intervention. Their care, survival, and eventual repopulation of the earth all point to God’s ongoing providence.

In other words, the Flood was not “nature” temporarily behaving strangely.

It was the Creator exercising authority over the world He made.

Why Believing This Is Reasonable

People sometimes ask, “How could a global flood happen?”

The better question is, “Could the Creator of the earth reshape His own creation?”

If God spoke the universe into existence, reshaping the earth would hardly be beyond His ability.

Again, the difficulty of any task is measured by the One doing the work.

If there is no Creator, then Noah’s Flood is impossible.

But if there is an all-powerful Creator who rules over oceans, mountains, weather, and gravity, then a global flood is not difficult—it is simply another demonstration of His authority.

Interestingly, there are also clues outside the Bible that make the account worth taking seriously. Flood traditions appear in cultures around the world. Marine fossils are found high in mountain ranges. Large sedimentary formations often point to rapid deposition rather than slow accumulation. None of these facts proves Noah’s Flood by themselves, but together they remind us that Earth’s history may have been far more catastrophic than many people assume.

Ultimately, belief in the Flood does not rest on geology.

It rests on the God who governs geology.

What This Miracle Reveals About God

The Flood isn’t primarily a story about water.

It’s a story about God’s holiness.

Modern culture often prefers to think of God as endlessly tolerant. Genesis presents a God who is incredibly patient—but who also takes human sin seriously.

For generations, God warned before He judged. Noah preached while building the Ark. The door remained open until the very last moment.

Judgment was never God’s first response.

But neither was it absent.

At the same time, the Flood reveals God’s remArkable mercy.

While judgment fell upon the world, God provided an Ark.

That Ark became a place of refuge for everyone willing to trust His word.

Throughout Scripture we see this same pattern repeated. God warns before He judges. He provides a way of escape before judgment falls. Ultimately, that refuge is found in Jesus Christ.

The Ark wasn’t simply a boat.

It was a picture of salvation.

Closing Thought

Whenever I read the Flood account, I don’t find myself thinking first about rainfall, geology, or shipbuilding.

I think about a God who is both perfectly holy and perfectly merciful.

A God who hates evil enough to judge it—but loves people enough to provide a way of rescue before judgment comes.

You may still have unanswered questions. I understand that. But I hope you can see why thoughtful Christ-followers continue to believe Noah’s Flood wasn’t an ancient fairy tale.

It was a real act of divine judgment, a real demonstration of divine mercy, and a powerful reminder that the God who judges sin is also the God who provides salvation.

And if He provided an ark for Noah’s generation, maybe He’s still inviting you and me to step into the shelter of His protection in ours.

If there was one truth quietly running beneath everything we read last week in Matthew 12-14, it was this: God is a generous God who opens His hand—and He invites us to open our hearts.

Think back over the week.

We saw that God didn’t create the Sabbath to burden people, but to bless them. We heard Jesus warn about hearts becoming so hardened that they could stare straight at the work of God and call it evil. Then He described four kinds of soil and showed us that the same seed produces radically different results depending upon the condition of the ground.

We looked ahead to eternity, where those who belong to Him will “shine like the sun.” We discovered a treasure worth everything—and considered the breathtaking possibility that we are the treasure Christ came to purchase. Then we watched Jesus take five loaves and two fish, feed thousands, and leave twelve baskets sitting on the ground as evidence that His provision had been more than enough.

Different stories. Different lessons. But underneath them all beats the same heartbeat:

God gives. God reveals. God invites. God provides. The question is: How will we respond?

And here’s the cool part—the Old Testament had been telling that story all along.

From the opening pages of Genesis, God is the Giver. He creates a world overflowing with beauty, places humanity within it, and declares that men and women bear His image. Human life matters because human beings matter to God.

Then comes the Sabbath. Long before the Pharisees turned it into a religious obstacle course, God said:

“Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.” (Exodus 20:8)

Why? Because God had woven rest into creation itself. The Sabbath wasn’t divine busywork. It was God’s weekly reminder: Stop. Breathe. Trust Me. You don’t have to hold the universe together. I already do.

But the Old Testament also warns us about what happens when hearts close.

Pharaoh repeatedly hardened his heart even while God’s power unfolded right in front of him. Isaiah later described people who would hear without understanding and see without perceiving because their hearts had grown dull (Isaiah 6:9–10). That’s the Old Testament backdrop to Jesus’ parable of the soils. The problem isn’t a shortage of seed. It’s the condition of the soil.

And remember Jesus’ promise that the righteous will someday “shine like the sun”? Daniel had already heard the echo centuries earlier:

“Those who are wise shall shine like the brightness of the firmament.” (Daniel 12:3)

Even the language of treasure reaches backward.

At Sinai, God told Israel, “You shall be a special treasure to Me above all people” (Exodus 19:5). Long before Jesus spoke of treasure hidden in a field, Scripture revealed something astonishing about God’s heart: He treasures people.

And those twelve baskets of leftovers? They sound a lot like Israel’s wilderness story. Every morning the people stepped outside and found manna waiting. Day after day, God provided enough. The lesson wasn’t merely about bread. It was about trust.

That’s the echo.

The God revealed by Jesus in Matthew is the same God who walked through the pages of Genesis, Exodus, Isaiah, and Daniel. He creates. He speaks. He provides. He treasures. He warns. He saves.

And He still asks for the same thing:

An open heart.

So before we rush into another week, maybe that’s the prayer to carry with us:

Lord, don’t let my heart become hard. Keep me receptive to Your Word, grateful for Your gifts, hungry for Your truth, and quick to trust Your provision.

Jesus was the Master Teacher—no question about it. And one of the ways He proved it was by packing His teachings with layer upon layer of meaning. He didn’t just speak truth—He wrapped it in stories that stuck.

He often began with something His audience instantly recognized: sheep, seeds, bread, wine, farming, fishing. These were everyday images pulled straight from their lives. On this surface level, His teaching was crystal clear. A farmer heard Him talk about sowing seed and nodded, “Yep, that’s exactly how it works.”

But tucked inside those simple scenes was often a deeper, symbolic layer—one that pointed to God’s Kingdom, Jesus’ mission, or the fulfillment of Biblical prophecy. So let’s peel back the layers in one of His shortest but richest parables: the treasure hidden in a field (Matthew 13:44).

Surface Level: A Simple Scene - In Jesus’ day, this story made perfect sense. With no banks around, people often buried their valuables in the ground to keep them safe. If war or death came, those treasures could stay hidden for years—until someone stumbled upon them. His listeners could easily imagine the thrill of such a find. Jackpot!

Moral or Practical Level: The Cost of True Worth - On this level, Jesus was saying: God’s Kingdom is worth more than anything else. Like the man who sold everything to buy the field, following Jesus might cost us dearly—but what we gain is beyond comparison. The takeaway? Chase eternal treasure. It’s the only kind that lasts.

Prophetic or Symbolic Level: Christ’s Mission - Now here’s where Jesus flips the script. What if we’re not the man—but the treasure? What if Jesus is the “man,” the world is the “field,” and the “treasure” is... us? Christ gave up everything—left heaven’s glory, humbled Himself, and paid the ultimate price to “buy the field” and redeem us. Suddenly, this parable becomes a portrait of His sacrificial love. That deeper meaning wouldn’t have been obvious at first—but after His death and resurrection, His disciples could look back and say, “He gave it all for us!”

Personal, Heart-Level Meaning - This parable hits home. If the Kingdom is my treasure, am I willing to let go of everything else to have it? Or, if I realize that I’m His treasure, am I living with the joy and gratitude of someone bought at such a cost? Either way, Jesus’ words cut straight to the heart.

May the Lord open your eyes to see the treasure of His Kingdom and the joy of belonging to Him. May you know—deep in your soul—that you are His priceless possession, bought with the blood of Christ. And may the Spirit give you courage to let go of what’s temporary so you can grab hold of what’s eternal.

Jesus didn’t just teach—He painted with words. In Matthew 13, He gave a sobering image of the wicked’s fate: a fiery furnace, a place of weeping and gnashing of teeth. That weeping isn’t a sniffle—it’s gut-wrenching sorrow. The kind that comes when someone realizes what they’ve lost… and that it’s too late to get it back. Oof. That’s heavy.

But then—on a contrasting canvas—Jesus turns our eyes to the righteous. Like a sunrise bursting through storm clouds, He speaks of breathtaking hope: “Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.” That’s the heart of it. When eternity begins, those who belong to Jesus will blaze with His glory forever. The believer’s story doesn’t end in judgment—it ends in radiant joy.

This echoes Daniel 12:3: “Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars forever and ever.”

But why “shine like the sun”? Jesus could’ve chosen any metaphor. Why this one?

First—the sun is the brightest light we know. It outshines every other star in our sky. To shine like the sun means to radiate with a glory so dazzling, darkness doesn’t stand a chance. In Heaven, you won’t be a flickering candle—you’ll blaze with the brilliance of God’s own presence.

Second—the sun gives life and warmth. Without it, the earth would freeze and die. Jesus is saying the righteous won’t just reflect light—they’ll radiate the vitality and life-giving power of God’s glory.

And finally—it’s a glimpse of our coming transformation. Right now, we walk through life wrapped in weakness and sorrow, like clouds that obscure the light within us. But Jesus promises that one day, those clouds will part, and what He’s been growing in you—quietly, faithfully—will erupt in radiant glory. Paul said it best: “When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory” (Colossians 3:4).

So what now? Live as a child of light (Ephesians 5:8). Keep sowing. Keep praying. Keep loving. Keep serving. Keep looking up. You’re not destined for ashes—you’re destined for radiance.

And may the Lord whisper to you in every weary moment: You are destined to shine.

Why do some people seem to ‘get it’ while others can’t seem to grasp the words of Jesus? Why doesn’t the Lord just reveal truth to everyone? That’s a tough one. But it’s exactly the kind of heart-level question Jesus tackles in today’s passage.

In Matthew 13:11–13, Jesus explains that spiritual truth isn’t randomly dispensed —it’s revealed to those who are ready and willing to receive it. God’s truth blazes like the noonday sun—available to all. But just like a window must be open to let the light flood in, the heart must be open to receive God’s Word. The issue isn’t God’s reluctance to reveal—it’s our readiness to welcome what He’s already shining forth.

Now, let’s be honest—it feels unfair at first glance. If God loves everyone, why not just “download” the truth into every mind like a divine software update? But here’s the twist: God isn’t playing favorites. He’s honoring the posture of our hearts.

Picture this: if someone repeatedly resists the truth, mocks it, or hardens their heart, God won’t shove His Word down their throat. Forced love isn’t love. Forced faith isn’t faith. God honors free will. So when people shut their ears, even the truth they did know starts to fade. But when someone leans in with an open heart—even with doubts, questions, and messy struggles—God joyfully pours out more light.

Today, God’s truth is more accessible than ever. The Bible is the most widely distributed book on the planet, and the Gospel echoes across continents. Yet while some receive it with joy, others scoff or scroll past. Why? Because revelation isn’t just about exposure—it’s about response. God gives deeper understanding to those who hunger for it. But for those who resist, truth becomes like sunlight against a shuttered window—always shining, never breaking through.

So no—it’s not unfair. It’s radically just and wildly loving. God won’t force Himself on anyone. But for those who truly hunger and thirst, the windows of heaven swing wide open. Instead of questioning God’s fairness, let’s examine the posture of our own hearts. Are we hungry for His truth? Are we asking Him to reveal more? Pray this daily: “Lord, keep my heart soft and open.” Lean in with humility, and God promises to illuminate His Word and His ways.

Today, may the Lord bless your seeking heart with ever-deepening revelation. May His Spirit shield you from pride, unbelief, or hardness. May your eyes stay wide open to the light of His Word. And may you walk in greater clarity, wisdom, and joy as He entrusts you with more of His kingdom truth.

The “unforgivable sin” sounds terrifying at first glance. In Matthew 12, Jesus issues a sobering warning: “Blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven.” Cue the internal panic—what if I’ve done it? To blaspheme meant to slander or dishonor God—His name, His character, His Word, His works. To curse His Name (Yahweh) was to attack the very heart of divine identity. It wasn’t just profanity—it was rebellion. This wasn’t just about reckless speech; it was a hardened attitude that despised what is sacred.

Now picture this: Jesus had just worked jaw-dropping miracles—healing the sick, restoring sight, freeing the demon-oppressed. The crowd was amazed, but the Pharisees? They doubled down, accusing Him of partnering with Satan. Calling the Spirit’s work “demonic” wasn’t a slip-up—it was a calculated, intentional rejection. So Jesus drew a bold line in the sand: every sin can be forgiven, but persistently branding God’s Spirit as evil slams the door on forgiveness itself.

Why is this sin unforgivable? Because it rejects the only path to salvation. The Spirit is the One who convicts us and points us to Christ. If someone stubbornly resists Him to the very end, they’re refusing the only cure for sin. Forgiveness is found in Christ alone, and to reject the Spirit’s witness is to turn away from the lifeline of grace.

This truth still holds today. Blasphemy against the Spirit isn’t a careless comment or a season of doubt—it’s a deliberate, settled rejection of Jesus and the Spirit’s testimony about Him. And here’s the hope: if you’re worried you’ve committed it, that very concern reveals a tender heart. The Spirit is still stirring in you!

So don’t push Him away. Keep your heart soft, welcome His conviction, and rest in the forgiveness found in Christ. The Spirit always leads us to Jesus—say “yes” every time He calls.

Today, may the Lord bless you with a heart that’s tender to His Spirit, bold to confess Christ, and overflowing with joy in His forgiveness. May His witness fill you with confidence and peace as you walk with Him.

When I talk with people about the Bible’s most difficult miracles, Genesis 1 almost always comes up first.

God created everything in six days? Light, oceans, dry land, plants, stars, animals, and human beings—all brought into existence by divine command?

I understand why that feels like a massive intellectual hurdle. We live in a world that explains origins in terms of billions of years, gradual development, and natural processes. Genesis gives us something entirely different. It says God spoke—and creation appeared.

“So the evening and the morning were the first day.”

That sentence does not sound tentative. It does not read like a scientific theory waiting to be tested. It reads like a declaration.

If we are going to examine the Bible’s miracles honestly, we might as well begin with the biggest one.

What the Bible Says Happened

Genesis 1 presents creation as a sequence of divine commands.

God says, “Let there be light,” and light appears. He separates the waters, brings dry land into view, fills the earth with vegetation, places the sun, moon, and stars in the heavens, creates animals, and finally forms human beings in His own image.

The repeated pattern is unmistakable:

God speaks.
Creation responds.
God declares it good.

The passage does not describe God experimenting, struggling, or waiting for nature to cooperate. It describes immediate, intentional creation.

Light appears before the sun. Plants exist before the sun is placed in the sky. Stars—more than we can count—are summarized with the almost casual statement, “He made the stars also.”

Adam is not created as an infant. Trees are not planted as seeds. Animals do not begin as single-celled organisms. Everything appears mature, functional, and ready to fulfill its purpose.

If we take the passage at face value—and I do—Genesis 1 describes six actual days of supernatural creation.

Why This Seems Impossible

Let’s be honest about the difficulty.

Nothing in Genesis 1 fits comfortably inside the ordinary processes we observe today.

Light normally comes from an energy source. Genesis says light existed before the sun and stars.

Plants require sunlight, water, soil, growth, and time. Genesis says vegetation appeared already producing seed and fruit.

Stars form, according to modern scientific models, through enormous processes involving gas, gravity, pressure, and time. Genesis says God made them by command.

Human beings develop through reproduction, genetics, pregnancy, and birth. Genesis says Adam was formed from the dust and Eve was fashioned from Adam’s side.

Naturally speaking, these things cannot happen.

But Genesis is not describing what nature can do by itself. It is describing what God did to bring nature into existence.

That distinction matters.

What May Have Happened Scientifically

Sometimes people say, “Genesis contradicts science.” But science studies the behavior of the natural world as it now operates. Creation describes the beginning of that world.

Before Genesis 1:1, there was no universe for scientists to observe. There was no matter, energy, biology, geology, or astronomy. The laws we study were not floating around waiting for God to obey them. They came into existence with the universe.

When God created light, He was creating the physical reality that light would later operate within. When He created plants, animals, and people, He was not speeding up ordinary development. He was creating complete living systems.

That may sound strange, but it is not incoherent.

Think about Adam. If you had seen him five minutes after his creation, you might have assumed he had lived for years. He had adult height, adult bones, adult muscles, and an adult brain. Yet he had been alive only moments.

His apparent age was not the result of elapsed time. It was the result of design and distinct creative actions.

The same principle could apply to the rest of creation. God could create trees with rings, stars whose light was already visible, mountains already formed, and a universe fully prepared to sustain life.

Creation would therefore appear mature from its first moment because God created it to function immediately.

A programmer does something similar when launching a digital world. The world does not have to begin as an empty screen and slowly evolve. Mountains, rivers, trees, weather systems, and characters can all appear when the program begins because they were written into the starting conditions.

Genesis describes God establishing the starting conditions of reality itself.

Why Believing This Is Reasonable

The real issue is not whether six-day creation can occur naturally.

It cannot.

The real question is whether an all-powerful Creator could do it.

Once that question is asked, the scale of the miracle changes.

If God can create matter from nothing, creating a mature tree is not difficult. If He can design DNA, forming Adam is not complicated. If He can create space, time, gravity, and energy, making stars is hardly a problem.

The difficulty of any task is measured by the one doing the work.

A child cannot build a skyscraper. A trained construction team can. A human being cannot speak a universe into existence. An Almighty God can.

Some people object that scientific evidence points to an ancient universe. Christians disagree about how that evidence should be interpreted. But even the appearance of age would not disprove supernatural creation. A world created fully mature would naturally contain features that ordinarily result from time.

Trying to measure creation only by present-day natural processes assumes that no Creator was involved. But Genesis is making the opposite claim. It tells us that the beginning of the universe was unlike every ordinary event that followed because God was personally bringing it into existence.

Believing Genesis 1 is not believing that nature created itself in six days.

It is believing that God did.

What This Miracle Reveals About God

Genesis 1 does more than tell us how the universe began. It tells us who God is.

He is the Creator.

Before the Bible reveals Him as Shepherd, Savior, Judge, Father, or King, it reveals Him as the One from whom everything came.

That means the universe belongs to Him. The stars belong to Him. The earth belongs to Him. Our bodies, abilities, possessions, and lives belong to Him.

We are not accidents living in a meaningless universe. We are creatures made deliberately by a personal God.

Genesis also reveals that God creates through His word. He does not wrestle creation into submission. He speaks with absolute authority, and reality obeys.

He creates order from emptiness, beauty from dArkness, and life where no life existed before.

And when God creates human beings, He does something unique. He makes them in His own image. Human life therefore has dignity, purpose, and value—not because society grants it, but because God designed it.

Creation is not merely evidence that God is powerful. It is evidence that He has the right to rule what He made.

Closing Thought

Genesis 1 does not begin by arguing for God’s existence. It begins by announcing Him:

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

If God does not exist, creation as Genesis describes it is impossible.

But if God does exist, six-day creation is not an embarrassment. It is exactly the kind of beginning we should expect from an Almighty Creator.

You may not be ready to accept every detail. I understand that. But I hope you can see that the question is larger than the age of rocks or the formation of stars.

The question is whether the universe is all there is—or whether it exists because Someone spoke it into being.

And if the God of Genesis truly created everything, then every miracle that follows suddenly becomes much easier to believe.

Something kept surfacing in last week’s Journey—quietly at first, then unmistakably. Every day, Jesus stepped straight into human fear.

A storm that rattled seasoned fishermen. A paralyzed man carrying invisible guilt. Crowds crushed by exhaustion. Disciples sent into hostility. Hearts terrified of surrender.

Different scenes, different pressures—but one thread ran through all of them: Jesus sees deeper than we do, and He moves toward us when fear tightens its grip.

That’s the moment worth revisiting.

LOOK BACK

· On Tuesday, Jesus calmed the disciples before He calmed the storm: “Why are you afraid?”

· On Wednesday, He addressed the paralyzed man’s soul before his legs: “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”

· On Thursday, He looked at crowds and saw sheep—harassed and helpless.

· On Friday, He sent His disciples out as sheep among wolves, armed with wisdom and innocence.

· On Saturday, He confronted the fear behind our clenched fists: “Whoever loses his life for My sake will find it.”

Fear of storms. Fear of shame. Fear of people. Fear of danger. Fear of surrender.

Jesus didn’t dismiss any of it. He simply revealed who He is in the middle of it.

And that’s where the Echo rises.

LISTEN FOR THE ECHO

To hear it, we step backward—into a passage that shaped Israel’s imagination for centuries. A passage Jesus quietly fulfilled all week long.

Psalm 23.

We know it well, but listen to it again through the lens of Matthew:

“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.” “He restores my soul.” “I will fear no evil; for You are with me.” (Psalm 23:1, 3–4 NKJV)

Now watch the connections unfold.

The storm on the Sea of Galilee?

“I will fear no evil; for You are with me.” The Shepherd was in the boat.

The paralyzed man weighed down by guilt?

“He restores my soul.” Before muscles moved, the Shepherd restored the heart.

The crowds Jesus saw as leaderless?

“The Lord is my shepherd.” They weren’t wandering anymore—He had arrived.

The disciples sent among wolves?

“Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” The Shepherd equips His sheep with wisdom and purity.

The call to surrender our lives?

“I shall not want.” Letting go isn’t falling into emptiness—it’s falling into provision.

Psalm 23 isn’t just a comforting poem—it’s a portrait of the God who steps into fear, guides His people, restores their souls, and walks with them into danger without letting them be destroyed.

And in Matthew 8–10, that Shepherd has skin on. He’s in the boat. He’s in the crowded house. He’s in the marketplace. He’s on the road. He’s sending His disciples into the world with His own heart beating inside them.

The unity of Scripture shines here: The Shepherd of Psalm 23 is the Jesus of Matthew 8–10. Same heart. Same authority. Same presence. Same promise: “Fear no evil… for I am with you.”

SO WHAT DOES THIS CHANGE FOR US?

It means fear doesn’t get the final word—not because life is easy, but because the Shepherd is near.

When storms rise, remember: He’s in your boat. When guilt whispers, remember: He restores your soul. When crowds overwhelm you, remember: He sees them—and you—with compassion. When hostility surrounds you, remember: His wisdom and purity protect you. When surrender feels risky, remember: You shall not want.

This week didn’t just show us what Jesus does—it showed us who He is.

Matthew 10:16 is one of those statements from Jesus that makes you think twice: “Behold, I am sending you out as sheep in the midst of wolves, so be wise as serpents and innocent as doves.” Sheep, wolves, serpents, and doves—oh my! It’s not just poetic wildlife—it’s Jesus prepping His disciples for the real hostility they’d face while proclaiming the Gospel, and how to respond with both grit and grace.

In that culture, sheep were the definition of defenseless. No claws, no fangs, no horns, no powerful jaws, no muscular build. And wolves? They hunted in packs, ruthless, fast, powerful and relentless. So when Jesus said, “I’m sending you out as sheep among wolves,” He wasn’t sugarcoating a thing. He was saying, “You’re exposed. The world will see you as easy prey.” Translation? “They’re coming for you.” His next line? “So be wise as serpents.”

To the disciples, serpents (snakes) were viewed as sharp-eyed, danger-sensitive, cunning, and masters of timing. A serpent doesn’t rush in—it reads the room. It knows when to slither and when to stay still. Jesus wasn’t calling us to be deceitful or sneaky—He was saying, “Use your brain! Be spiritually street-smart.” And then He adds the counterpunch: “Innocent as doves.” Doves don’t plot. They don’t lash out. They’re pure, peaceful, and non-aggressive.

So here’s the divine tension: be shrewd without being sinful, and holy without being naïve. Be street-smart with a pure-heart. In today’s world, that means we don’t cave to fear, but we also don’t stumble around clueless. We engage culture with wisdom—knowing when to speak, when to listen, when to stand firm, and when to step back. And our motives? Always pure. No manipulation. No bitterness. Just love, seasoned with discernment. Jesus calls us to be serpent-smart—strategic and observant, sidestepping traps without ever striking with venom.

Take a workplace moment: a colleague scoffs, “I don’t get why anyone still believes the Bible—it’s outdated.” You feel the tension. Instead of launching into a defense, you pause. You ask, “What makes you feel that way?” That’s serpent wisdom—reading the room, opening a door. Then you respond with dove-like innocence: “I’ve found the Bible speaks to things I wrestle with today—identity, purpose, hope.” No agenda. Just honest, humble witness. That’s the strategy—truth with tenderness.

Maybe you’re staring down a tough conversation at work, or feeling the strain of faith-based tension in your family. Be the dove—gentle, kind, unoffensive. But also be the serpent—alert, aware, and spiritually awake to the battle around you. Jesus isn’t sending us into the fray empty-handed. He’s handing us divine game plan.

So step out today—soft-hearted, sharp-minded. Full of grace, full of truth. The world needs Christ followers who walk wisely, never losing their innocence.

Jesus never looked at a crowd the way we do. We often see traffic, statistics, problems, interruptions, annoyances. He saw sheep—harassed, helpless, wandering. Matthew 9:36 says, “He had compassion for them, because they were like sheep without a shepherd.”

That’s the heart of a true Shepherd. Not just one who sees the crowd, but one who feels their ache, notices their need, and moves toward them with love. Being a Shepherd isn’t about wielding a staff—it’s about laying down your life. It’s fierce, tender, and wildly generous.

Jesus embodied this perfectly. He didn’t glance past the crowd or delegate their pain. He stepped in. His heart was protective, patient, and extravagantly kind. He didn’t just see their brokenness—He felt it. And then He acted.

So what does that look like in us? As we grow in Christ, His Shepherd heart should begin to beat inside us. It may be a faint pulse at first, but as we grow we start noticing the hurting, the harassed, the helpless. And we don’t just notice—we feel the tug of God’s compassion and the call to guide, protect, and love until they find their way home.

But if you don’t feel that ache—if you can walk past the broken and feel nothing—then something’s wrong. Not just “missing.” Wrong. Because if Christ lives in you, His compassion should be leaking out of you. If your heart doesn’t break for the lost, it’s time to ask: Whose heart is beating in your chest?

The Gospel doesn’t call us to a life of comfort. It calls us to carry—to carry their burdens, to carry the weight of their pain. If you’re not moved by the harassed and helpless, maybe you’ve forgotten what it felt like to be one of them. Maybe you’ve grown numb. Maybe you’ve grown proud. Either way, it’s time to repent.

If you already carry a Shepherd’s heart—bless the Lord for it! Tend it well. Keep it soft by staying close to Jesus, the Chief Shepherd. Feed it with His Word. Guard it from bitterness and burnout. And when you see someone straying—go gently, go boldly, go lovingly.

If you don’t sense this Shepherd heart pulsing inside of you—ask for it. “You have not because you ask not.” (James 4:2) Seek the Lord for it. Wait upon His Spirit until that heart starts beating. Then, start to serve others. Go where it’s hard. Serve where it’s inconvenient. Love when it’s uncomfortable. Compassion grows when you use it.

From the heart of the Good Shepherd to yours—may He give you eyes that see, a heart that aches, and hands that heal.

Matthew 9:2 reminds us that our deepest need isn’t always the thing we’re praying for God to fix. We often approach Jesus with a to-do list: heal the sickness, cover the bill, open the door—restore the paralyzed body. But Jesus sees past the surface. He knows the real root issue—our separation from God. When He addresses the spiritual need first, it’s not because He’s ignoring our pain. It’s because He’s performing a greater miracle—restoring the very foundation of our lives.

In Capernaum, some determined friends bring their paralyzed friend to Jesus. The room is thick with dust, hushed whispers, and the skeptical stares of scribes. Everyone’s bracing for a visible miracle. But Jesus surprises them. He looks at the man and says, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.” Before muscles twitch, before legs move, a heavier burden lifts—the invisible weight of guilt and separation from God. The man’s first healing is internal: a rush of warmth, relief like fresh air flooding lungs that had only known shallow breaths; shame loosens its grip; fear unclenches; hope begins to hum inside his chest.

Why did Jesus start there? Because sin is soul-paralysis. Jesus saw the deeper miracle this man truly needed. Yes, broken bodies ache—but broken fellowship with God is a deeper fracture. Jesus heals from the inside out. Forgiveness isn’t a detour—it’s the cornerstone. When the scribes bristle, Jesus proves His authority with a second miracle: “Rise, take up your bed, and go home.” The visible healing confirms the invisible grace.

So what does this mean for us? Never stop bringing Jesus your urgent needs—but bring Him your heart first. Ask Him to forgive, to cleanse, to realign your spirit. Many of us live spiritually “stuck,” not because God can’t change our circumstances, but because He’s waiting to change our center. When Christ is the center—secured by His pardon—every other healing finds its proper place.

Today, come honestly. Name the sins that have numbed your soul. Hear His word spoken over you: “Take heart, my son/daughter.” Feel what that man felt—startled peace, tears you didn’t know you’d stored, the sensation of being lighter than the mat that once carried you. Then rise. Walk in newness. Carry your story home.

Today, may you allow the Lord look past your visible symptoms and see your soul. May the God of forgiveness make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ returns.

When life’s storms hit hard and fast, it’s tempting to wonder if God has nodded off at the wheel. But Matthew 8:26 reveals a Savior who’s not only wide awake—He’s masterfully in charge. The big idea? Jesus doesn’t just hush the waves—He hushes the heart. So when fear starts knocking, hear Jesus ask, “Why are you afraid?” Then answer with faith: My God is here. My times are in His hand. And no storm outranks His power.

Picture it: the Sea of Galilee, notorious for surprise squalls. The disciples—some of them seasoned sailors—are freaking out as waves slam into their boat. Meanwhile, Jesus is snoozing peacefully. When they jolt Him awake, He addresses their fear before He addresses the storm. In Jewish tradition, only God commands nature. So this wasn’t just a miracle—it was a mic-drop moment: “The Great I AM is in your boat.”

His presence doesn’t erase the waves instantly—but it transforms panic into peace. Why? Because He’s Lord over the storm. And here’s the soul-piercing question He asked His disciples: “Why are you afraid?”

So let’s bring it home. Why are YOU afraid?

· Facing a sudden crisis? Pray first, then act—Psalm 46:1 says God is your ever-present help.

· Unsure about the future? Trust Proverbs 3:5–6—He knows the way.

· Feeling out of control? Rest in Psalm 31:15—your times are in His hand.

· Worried about safety? Isaiah 41:10 promises He will uphold you.

· Grieving loss? Worship through Job 1:21.

· Under spiritual attack? Resist with James 4:7 and stand firm in God’s armor.

· Wrestling with shame? Romans 8:1 declares no condemnation.

· Disturbed by world events? John 16:33 says Jesus has overcome.

· Feeling inadequate? Lean into 2 Corinthians 12:9—His grace is enough.

I’m reminded of a boy on a bumpy airplane ride. While grown-ups clutched their armrests, he calmly colored in his book. When asked why he wasn’t scared, he replied, “Because my dad’s the pilot.” That’s faith—trusting Who’s in control, even when the ride gets rough.

Today, may the Lord anchor your heart in the truth that He is with you in every storm. May His peace guard your mind, His presence steady your soul, and His power remind you: no wave is greater than His Word. Rest in Him—you’re safe in the boat (or on the plane) with Jesus.

“CHARLIE’S PRAYER”

Charlie reaches a turning point in this chapter. After being distant from God, wrestling with emptiness, and trying to fix his life on his own, he finally stops fighting. In a moment of honesty and surrender, Charlie prays—owning his past, admitting his need, and placing his trust in Jesus. This chapter marks the moment his story shifts from searching to being found, from thirst to living water, from self‑reliance to a new beginning.

“Jesus, I don’t know everything, and I still have questions, but I believe You are who You said You are.

I believe You are the Son of God who came for people like me. I’ve spent so much of my life trying to fill the emptiness inside me with other things, and now I see that what I’ve really needed is You.

Thank You for loving me, for dying on the cross for my sins, and for rising again. Please forgive me for my pride, my selfishness, my rebellion, and all the ways I have lived apart from You.

I can’t save myself, but I trust You to save me. I give You my life. Teach me, lead me, change me, and help me follow You. Fill the thirst inside me with the living water only You can give.

From this day forward, I want to know You, trust You, and walk with You as my Savior, my Shepherd, my King, and my friend. Amen.”

The Bible is bursting with promises that God sees every heartfelt act of love and service we offer Him—and He fully intends to reward us for it, forever. In Revelation 22:12, Jesus boldly proclaims, “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my reward with me, to repay each one for what he has done.”

How incredible is that?! Whether you’re quietly helping a neighbor, praying with persistence, serving in ministry, or sharing the Gospel with someone who’s lost and searching—God is keeping tabs on every ounce of effort your heart pours out! Colossians 3:23-24 urges us to do everything “as for the Lord,” because we’ll receive an inheritance as our reward. Even handing someone a cup of cold water in Jesus’ name doesn’t slip past Heaven’s radar (Matthew 10:42). Every sacrifice, every obedient step, every genuine act of faith—it’s all being stored up in your eternal “treasure chest.”

But here’s the twist—and it’s a biggie—we can actually drain that treasure chest. In Matthew 6:1, Jesus gives a sobering heads-up: “Watch out! Don’t do your good deeds publicly, to be admired by others, for you will lose the reward from your Father in heaven.” (NLT) Yikes! If we’re doing “holy stuff” to rack up likes, applause, or admiration—whether it’s broadcasting our good deeds or making sure people notice our prayers—we’re trading eternal treasure for a fleeting ego rush. Jesus says that’s receiving our reward “in full” right here on earth. Hard pass, right? We want the real deal—the forever kind!

Is your service secret—or selfie-worthy? What do we do when we catch ourselves craving the spotlight or doing spiritual things for the wrong reasons? First, hit pause and pray. Ask God to search your heart and expose any mixed motives. Be real—He already knows! Then, re-center your focus on Jesus. Picture Him as your audience of One. Serve in secret when possible—give quietly, pray privately—because God delights in rewarding what’s done in the shadows. And finally, soak in the Bible daily to keep your heart tuned to His glory, not your own.

Let’s live for the moment we step into eternity and hear Jesus say, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Keep serving with a pure heart, and trust that God’s preparing something jaw-droppingly amazing for you in Heaven. Stay fired up, stay grounded, and let’s do this—for His glory alone!

In today’s statement from the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus flips human instinct upside down—again—and calls us to a higher standard: divine love. Not the kind of love that reacts, but the kind that initiates. When we love like this, we mirror our Father in heaven—who showers both saints and sinners with sunshine and rain. Loving your enemies sounds impossible… because it is. Unless Jesus is involved.

Listen to Jesus’ radical invitation: “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven.” Wait! What?! Love and pray for my enemies?

In first-century Israel, Rome ruled with cruelty, and many Jews burned with a desire for revenge. Yet Jesus calls His followers to a different posture—agapē love: a deliberate, sacrificial choice to seek another’s good, even when they’re against you. In Jesus’ day, Jewish enemies included not just Roman oppressors, but also Samaritans (viewed as religious traitors), corrupt Herodian rulers, hostile religious elites, violent Zealots, and morally suspect Gentile pagans. So when Jesus said “Love your enemies,” He was calling His followers to extend divine love across every line of division—political, religious, and cultural. Loving enemies isn’t weakness—it’s Heaven’s strength breaking into earth.

Today, Christians often struggle to love those who oppose their values—whether political rivals, moral critics, or people who mock their faith. It’s also tough to love those who’ve hurt us personally or who come across as arrogant, extreme, or just plain different. But Jesus calls us to love like God loves—offering grace even to the ungrateful and hostile. This kind of love isn’t natural—it’s supernatural. We can only love like this through the power of the Holy Spirit.

In our divided, reactive culture, it’s easy to love those who agree with us—and avoid those who don’t. But Jesus raises the bar. To resemble our heavenly Father means extending love beyond the borders of comfort and convenience. This isn’t about ignoring justice or excusing sin—it’s about reflecting God’s heart, even toward those who seem undeserving. When we pray for our enemies, our hearts begin to soften, and God’s Spirit starts to move.

Today, ask God to show you who you need to love differently. Who have you written off? Who irritates you, offends you, or has wronged you? Start praying for them by name. Ask God to bless them. It may not change them—but it will absolutely change you. That’s how God trains His children to reflect His love in a dark, divided, and unloving world.

Today, may the Lord fill you with His perfect love—the kind that casts out fear and conquers hate. May He empower you to bless when it’s easier to curse, to forgive when it’s easier to resent, and to love when it’s hardest. As you do, may you shine like a true child of your Father in heaven.

The Sermon on the Mount isn’t a checklist of spiritual dos and don’ts—it’s a bold declaration that the Kingdom of Heaven has crashed into earth and flipped everything upside-down. Jesus opens His mouth and pours out blessing—not on the powerful or polished, but on the poor in spirit, the meek, the grieving, and the spiritually starved. It’s radical. It’s revolutionary. And it’s Gospel gold for the hungry-hearted.

In Matthew 5:6, Jesus invites the spiritually famished to a feast that truly satisfies: “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness.” Let’s dig in.

Blessed – This isn’t a trendy hashtag or polite Christian phrase. In Jesus’ words, “blessed” means living under the smile of God—approved, favored, flourishing in Heaven’s eyes. It doesn’t mean life is easy. It means your soul is aligned with God’s heart. And this blessing belongs to those who feel spiritually empty—not those who fake fullness.

Righteousness – This word is packed. Biblically, it means both being declared right before God (justification) and living rightly with God (sanctification). To Jesus’ audience, hungering for righteousness meant craving God’s presence, His justice, and His transforming power—in their lives and in their world. It was a cry for God to make things right—within us and around us.

Satisfied – Here’s the promise: God doesn’t ignore the spiritually hungry. He fills them. The word used here is the same one for fattened livestock—fully fed and flourishing. Jesus is saying, “If you come hungry, you won’t leave empty.”

Hunger and Thirst – These are survival-level cravings. Hunger is urgent. Thirst is consuming. Jesus describes a deep ache—not for food or drink—but for righteousness. For our standing before God to be restored. For our hearts and habits to reflect His holiness. It’s not just moral improvement—it’s longing for God’s will to be done in us and through us.

Are you spiritually hungry today? Tired of soul-snacks that don’t satisfy? Good News: there’s a feast in Christ that fills both heart and life. Jesus promises—your cry won’t go unanswered.

May the Lord stir up a holy hunger in you—one that refuses shallow substitutes. May He draw you near, feed your soul, and fill you with righteousness that overflows into a life that shines for Him. Stay thirsty, my friend.
