Our
History
From The Word Fellowship was birthed in November 1999 as
a weekly bible study mission that consisted of seven
individuals. As attendance began to increase from these
seven individuals to over seven families, the fellowship
mission remained the same, but the format now included
testimonial service, and praise and worship.
With God’s favor, the fellowship experienced phenomenal
growth, and in November 2000, From The Word Fellowship
International Fellowship Ministries, Inc. was
established. The first worship service was held on
November 26th of that year in the auditorium
on the campus of Saint Andrews Presbyterian College.
Since that time, From The Word Ministries has held
worship services on the campus of I. Ellis Johnson
Middle School, The Laurinburg Institute Preparatory
School, as well as North Laurinburg Elementary School.
In
2001, From The Word purchased 53.7 acres of land located
adjacent to Scotland High School in Laurinburg, North
Carolina for the sanctuary complex. During the initial
phase of construction, the project suffered tremendous
vandalism that halted forward progress. Although the
members were distraught, they were not discouraged and
their faith in God was further strengthened.
Since May 2004, worship services have been held in the
Fellowship Center, a 6000 square foot facility in the
College Plaza Shopping Center in Laurinburg. From The
Word International Fellowship Ministries is a 450
membership church that offers an array of diverse
cutting-edge ministries for Laurinburg and surrounding
areas. From The Word continues to hold fast to its
vision of empowerment through fellowship in the word of
God.
From The Word Ministries looks forward to a bright
future; we have implemented a discipleship based cell
group ministry to ensure that meaningful life-altering
relationships are cultivated throughout the Scotland
County area. The small group concept promises to
multiply the resources, gifts, and talents needed to
fulfill the vision of manifesting God’s kingdom here on
earth.
